At heart, The Zeitgeist Movement (TZM) is a global sustainability movement, with chapters in over 60 Countries. Unlike endeavors with similar stated goals, we see the need to address the complete system, including the social, political, economic, and technological components of society. A world with injustice, needless war, exploitation, and mass-ignorance, cannot be sustainable. Wars are connected to resources, poverty is connected to bigotry, political dissonance is connected to technology; no problem or solution exists in a vacuum. As society gets larger, more complicated, and more interdependent, it is increasingly important that our systems evolve holistically. We cannot continue “believing” things will work out on their own, but instead proactively pursue a society that is transparent, automated, intolerant of corruption, intelligently manages its resources, and takes care of everyone and our environment.
